Eugene S. - 20/Aug/2024 The fourth studio album by German power metal band Gamma Ray, released in 1995. In a contemporary review by the German magazine Rock Hard, Land of the Free was elected Album of the Month and described as "the best, heaviest and most polished Gamma Ray album since Heading for Tomorrow". I recommend.
| | Dmitry N. - 01/May/2021 Land Of The Free, originally released in 1995, is the fourth studio album by Gamma Ray; the band helmed by German metal pioneer Kai Hansen. Following the departure of lead singer Ralf Scheepers, this record features Hansen delivering his signature vocals that fans know and love from his earlier band Helloween. The tracklist is filled with instant classics, ranging from heavy hitting speed metal ("Rebellion In Dreamland," "Man On A Mission") to midtempo hits like the title track and the fantastic ballad "Farewell."
| | Alexander S. - 14/Oct/2019 It was from this album that I respected this group. And after carefully listening to him, he appreciated the early Sigh No More and Heading For Tomorrow. But really it’s impossible to call him the best, after all, Somewhere Out In Space outdid him both in power and in melody. Nevertheless, here is a great start with the terrific Rebellion In Dreamland song and a slightly depressing and sad ending to the Afterlife song dedicated to Ingo Schwichtenberg. The weak song is probably one Time To Break Free sung by Michael Kiske, but otherwise the album is great!!
| | Volodymyr Z. - 09/Aug/2019 Super new edition of my favorite album from Kai! Fantastic sound!
| | Vladimir G. - 11/Feb/2019 One of the best power metal records of all time! First Gamma Ray album featuring only Kai Hansen on lead vocals. This is an epic tale of freedom and a pathway for numerous bands that came after.
