A brilliant mix of Goth / Prog Metal style songs with lots of growling vocals, great orchestration and choir (stuff always sounds Oman-y0). Concept for the album is focussed around the Great Lisbon Earthquake of 1755 (although again I cant understand a word in Portugal)

"1755" - twelfth full-length Moonspell album, which details a catastrophic earthquake that occurred in the band’s native Portugal that year and features lyrics delivered entirely in Portuguese. It’s still a decent album that will appeal to fans of Moonspell’s harsher side, but I feel that albums like Wolfheart and The Antidote were better at displaying the band’s more ambitious tendencies.Faithful Moonspell supporters should purchase this album. Occasional listeners might have quite some problems to digest this release.

Moonspell's 1755 was released on CD with a distinct cover, one bonus track (Desastre, in Spanish) and a great booklet, which are not present on vinyl versions.

Aktuelles Album der Portugiesen, Texte in der Landessprache.
