Nico Sarbanes loves Baltimore. The 23-year-old Charm City native is committed to elevating the city's profile both as a thriving factory of jazz talent and a key contributor to the development of American music. To that end, in Fall 2015, Nico presented some of Baltimore's most renowned jazz artists in concert at the city's acclaimed jazz venue, An Die Musik. These musicians - alto saxophonist ANTONIO HART, vibraphonist WARREN WOLF, drummer WINARD HARPER and alto saxophonist TIM GREEN - have established themselves in the upper tier of today's jazz performers, and all will tell you that their Baltimore roots have had a profound impact on their growth as players and people. These recordings, taken from those live performances, do not feature intricate arrangements or truncated solos. Rather, they are meant to showcase some of Baltimore's master improvisers stretching out and "doing their thing" live, and to debut a young trumpeter and vocalist who one day hopes to join them in representing the best of Baltimore
