| Description: | Star Wars: A New Hope is an album by John Williams, released in 2018. The album is a Remastered original soundtrack CD. - Digitally remastered edition. Star Wars (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the film score to the 1977 film Star Wars, composed and conducted by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Williams' score for Star Wars was recorded over eight sessions at Anvil Studios in Denham, England on March 5, 8-12, 15 and 16, 1977. The score was orchestrated by Williams's frequent associate Herbert W. Spencer, who also later orchestrated the scores for The Empire Strikes Backand Return of the Jedi."01" at end of matrix is in a smaller font size.
2018 Walt Disney Records/Lucasfilm Ltd. CD reissue of the original 2-LP configuration of the soundtrack for Star Wars (since retroactively retitled "Star Wars: A New Hope!"), as recorded by The London Symphony Orchestra under the baton of the composer, and here both condensed onto a single CD for the first time and reconstructed and edited from the analog masters by Mark Willsher and Timeri Duplat. The packaging contains a four-page foldout booklet with a series a photos from the film, as well as a foldout mini-poster of C-3PO and R2-D2, on the interior pages; and color front and back covers, the former featuring a common album design for the first six chapters of this Star Wars soundtrack reissue series by Steve Sterling, with the subtitle for each film combined with a unique color (blue here!) on each individual volume, and the latter featuring track titles and production credits. |
