 | Description: | Seven CD box set with a full illustrated discography by renowned Fall expert Conway Paton. The discs have been remastered by Fall engineer Andy Pearce and come with a newly designed book in a box. The Fall is an English post-punk band, formed in Manchester in 1976. The band has existed in some form ever since, and is essentially built around it's founder and only constant member Mark E. Smith. Initially associated with the punk movement of the late 1970s, the group's music has gone through several stylistic changes over the years, characterized by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, and is always underpinned by Smith's distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics. The band is noted for it's prolific output: as of Autumn 2017 they have released over 32 studio albums, and more than triple that counting live albums and other releases. This is the first collection of all the Fall singles recorded across a multitude of labels: Step Forward, Rough Trade, Kamera, Beggars Banquet, Cog Sinister, Permanent, Artful, Action... oh, and Cherry Red! We got the lot!"Singles 1978-2016 (7CD Deluxe Boxset)" is an essential collection for any fan of post-punk and alternative music, chronicling nearly four decades of The Fall's prolific output. This deluxe box set, released by Cherry Red, features seven CDs packed with every single the band released between 1978 and 2016, including rare B-sides and hard-to-find tracks. The packaging includes a comprehensive booklet filled with detailed liner notes, photos, and commentary that provide deep insight into the band's evolution over time. As one of the most influential bands in British underground music history, The Fall?led by the enigmatic Mark E. Smith?are renowned for their uncompromising sound and relentless creativity. With classic singles like "Totally Wired," "Hit the North," and "Theme from Sparta F.C.", they have left an indelible mark on generations of musicians. Cherry Red Records is celebrated for its dedication to preserving musical heritage through high-quality reissues and compilations across genres; this release stands as another testament to their commitment. | | No. of tracks: |
