Description:Double vinyl LP pressing. Taken from the notable Thanksgiving Jazz benefit concert in 1957 (which also featured the likes of Billie Holiday and Dizzy Gillespie), Blue Note/UMe reissue this classic Thelonious Monk Quartet recording on double vinyl to commemorate the album's 60th anniversary. Covering two separate sets from the evening, the recording documents the blossoming relationship between Monk and John Coltrane. The Thanksgiving Jazz concert was produced by Kenneth Lee Karpe for the Morningside Community Center in Harlem. The tape was stored at the Library of Congress where it sat untouched, until 2005 when it was discovered by recording lab supervisor Larry Appelbaum. The recording was then restored by producer Michael Cuscuna and T.S. Monk (Thelonious Monk's son)., Runningtime: 00:00:00, A&R [A&R Administration]: Chris Cofoni, Art Direction, Design: Burton Yount, Bass: Ahmed Abdul-Malik, Composed By [Compositions By]: Thelonious Monk, Creative Director [Creative Direction]: Gordon H Jee, Drums: Shadow Wilson, Engineer: DXT, Engineer [Assistant Engineer]: James Dellatacoma, Engineer [Original Recording Engineer]: Harry Hochberg, Executive-Producer: Bruce Lundvall, Illustration [Cover Illustration]: Felix Sockwell, Lacquer Cut By: Ian Sefchick, Legal [Legal Representation For Jowcol Music And The Coltrane Family]: Bill Kaplan (2), Legal [Legal Representation For Thelonius Records And The Monk Family]: Alan Bergman (6), Mastered By: Michael Fossenkemper, Mastered By [60th Anniversary 2-LP Edition Mastered By]: Ian Sefchick, Photography By [Individual Photographs By]: Francis Wolff, Photography By [Quartet Photography By]: Don Schlitten, Piano: Thelonious Monk, Producer [Concert Produced By]: Kenneth Lee Karpe, Product Manager: Perry Greenfield, Reissue Producer [Produced For Release By]: Michael Cuscuna, Reissue Producer [Produced For Release By]: Thelonious Monk Jr., Sleeve Notes: Amiri Baraka, Sleeve Notes: Ashley Kahn, Sleeve Notes: Ira Gitler, Sleeve Notes: Larry Appelbaum, Sleeve Notes: Lewis Porter, Sleeve Notes: Robin D.
