 | | Description: | Swedish duo First Aid Kit will release their forthcoming album Ruins on January 19. Produced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, Laura Veirs), the album was recorded in Portland, OR where the duo collaborated with amazing musicians ?? REM??s Peter Buck, Wilco??s Glenn Kotche, and Midlake??s McKenzie Smith. Ruins includes lead single [??It??s A Shame?](http://smarturl.it/ItsAShameVideo).
Ruins follows the band??s Columbia Records debut Stay Gold, a lush and ambitious 10-song collection that beautifully captures their vivid storytelling, landing First Aid Kit countless ??Best of 2014? accolades. The album included the hit single ??My Silver Lining??.
Earlier this spring, the duo also released a stand-alone single on International Women??s Day entitled ["You Are The Problem Here"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0esbbnY5Xvw), It is an empowered, passionate, and angry song that confronts the rape culture epidemic, with a portion of proceeds donated to Women for Women International. - Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Includes digital download. 2018 release. Ruins is the eagerly awaited album from Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit. This album finds First Aid Kit as you've never heard them before: wounded and biting back hard. While Ruins follows the traditions of the classic folk-rock sound that First Aid Kit revived via their breakthrough album Stay Gold (2014) and previous releases The Big Black And The Blue (2010) and The Lion's Roar (2012), the difference is that this time they've lived, and the results are intense. Tracks such as Rebel Heart the album's opener documents a love doomed from the start. It's A Shame the lead single is a plea to live in the moment because everyone disposes of each other eventually. On Postcard and To Live A Life, you feel the breath-stealing weight of despair when a shattered love leaves you bereft of hope. Fireworks introverts the blame with self-loathing. Ruins was made with one target in mind: make it sound more real a result the Sderberg sisters clearly achieved.Gatefold, including lyric sleeve and a digital download code card.
Tote bag and Ruins 12" x 12" signed or unsigned lithograph were available pre-order options from bands site.
The durations are timed without inter-track silences.
