Originally released as CD in 1988 [Verve Records ?835 253 2]. Tracks 1, 2, 4 and 6 originally released as LP " Duets " in 1958 [Verve Records MGV 8260]. Tracks 3 & 5 are bonus tracks previously unissued from 1988 CD first reissue [Verve Records ?835 253 2]. Recorded at Nola Studios, New York City, on December 11, 1957. ( Wikipedia ) The recordings on this album are from the same sessions and with the same personnel that produced the earlier released Sonny Side Up album which had Sonny Stitt and Sonny Rollins playing simultaneously with Dizzy Gillespie. On the Duets album, as the name implies, Sonny Stitt and Sonny Rollins played separately with Dizzy Gillespie.
