The Gloaming is a contemporary Irish music group (with two American members!), formed in Ireland in 2011 by musicians Martin Hayes, Dennis Cahill, Iarla O Lionaird, Caoimhin O Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman). They have made two studio albums, ??The Gloaming? (2014) and ??The Gloaming 2? (2016). Since their formation, The Gloaming have sold out an unprecedented 17 consecutive concerts at Ireland??s National Concert Hall, celebrated a Number 1 album in the Irish Charts, won a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award, played a spellbinding set in London??s Royal Albert Hall, won a Meteor Choice Music Prize for Album Of The Year and have topped multiple ??performance and album of the year?? polls, including The Irish Times, The Guardian, Q, The Daily Telegraph, Mojo Magazine, The Irish Independent and Hot Press.
Not only Ireland and England embraced The Gloaming. With the release of their highly acclaimed two albums, the past few years have witnessed The Gloaming performing to packed houses in the most prestigious venues all over the world, from Amsterdam to New York, from Mexico to New Zealand.
The group??s annual Spring residency in Dublin has quickly established itself as a mustsee ticket, and their 2017 residency of 7 shows sold out in record time. The recordings of the brand new album ??Live At The NCH? were taken from performances at the National Concert Hall in 2016 and 2017. The live album co-incides with a 7-night residency at the National Concert Hall in Dublin this year - 5-8 & 10-12 March 2018 ; their only live shows worldwide in 2018. -
