Description: | Following on from their earlier volume of piano works for four hands by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Resonus RES10172), pianists Julian Perkins and Emma Abbate complete their survey. This recording is performed on two period instruments from the Richard Burnett Heritage Collection of early keyboard instruments â?? a grand piano by Michael Rosenberger from c. 1800 and a square piano from the 1820s by Londonâ??s Clementi & Co. Also included is the Sonata in E-flat major by Mozartâ??s close contemporary Muzio Clementi. - WORKS BY MOZART/CLEMENTI/LEVINFollowing on from their earlier volume of piano works for four hands by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, pianists Julian Perkins and Emma Abbate complete their suvey with this release. This recording is performed on two period instruments from the Richard Burnett Heritage Collection of early keyboard instruments- a grand piano by Michael Rosenberger from around 1800, and a square piano from the 1820s by London's Clementi & Co. In addition to the Mozart works, this release also includes the Sonata in E flat major by Mozart's close contemporary Muzio Clementi. Described as 'an amazingly talented pianist' by Musica, the Neapolitan pianist Emma Abbate has performed duo recitals for international festivals and concert societies in Salzburg, Lisbon, Naples, Ischia, and Koscierzyna. She has also performed at prestigious UK venues. Based in London, she is professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a staff coach at the Royal Opera House. Described as 'exuberantly stylish' by The Sunday Times, Julian Perkins is Founder, Director of Sounds Baroque, and Artistic Director of Cambridge Handel Opera. |
