Description:The upcoming album "44 / 876" is a collaboration between British icon STING and Reggae/Dancehall star SHAGGY. An island inspired collection of songs recorded in Jamaica and New York, it marks Sting's return to his early love of reggae which shaped his Police and solo career. For "44/876" Sting returned to GoldenEye in Jamaica, the location where he wrote his massive hits "Every Breath You Take," "King of Pain," and "Wrapped Around Your Finger" and was brought together with Shaggy via Martin Kierszenbaum. The two worked on "Don't Make Me Wait" together as a lark. The chemistry worked and now we have an album of island-inspired, reggae pop music, perfect for a fun and relaxing summer time, not to mention perfect for synch opportunities with travel, tourism and holiday related companies, outdoor sports activity, foods, and beverages. - FT. SHAGGY
2018 release, a collaboration between former Police frontman and solo superstar Sting and Jamaican singer/songwriter Shaggy. The island-influenced album reflects their mutual love of Jamaica - it's music, the spirit of it's people and vibrancy of it's culture. Sting and Shaggy wrote and jammed together for a few weeks in New York City, creating music that seamlessly blends Caribbean rhythms-in traditional and modern styles-with pop craftsmanship and rock energy.

CD, which was recorded by British star Sting and American star of Jamaican music Shaggy, was not built on the basis of the duet principle. The singers enter the compositions in turn, each in their own style. But there is no doubt who is in charge here. This is sting. He is always looking for - he will record a rock album, then he will work with a DJ, and his melodies sound beautifully with a rock band and accompanied by a symphony orchestra. In different styles I heard the ex-"cop". The musician has long been able to balance on the verge of styles and genres - his pop hits are just as convincing as his art concepts. The new work says that Sting understands: sometimes you need to do something that brought him fame - a beautiful, transparent and smart art pop. And he tries to make it fresher and more interesting. About Sting used to think that he tirelessly repeats himself beloved, and does it successfully and not boring. However, this time he takes a step towards easier perception. And here Shaggy really helped the Briton. They are truly equal, their colors complement, but do not obscure each other. Shaggy is close to Caribbean culture and rap, but reggae is at the forefront. Vocal data is right in time with the melodies, and we get a heart-to-heart conversation. The songs immediately seem beautiful - as always, but how long have you been listening to Sting's new big hit? Such that for years, for all ages and tastes. There are two of them on this disk! Closer to the end of the track list, “Crooked Tree” appears - and has every chance of getting into future “bests”. Add “Sad Trombone” to it - Clark Gaiton plays the instrument from the name. This topic, perhaps, claims to be the new “Moon Over Bourbon Street”. Old comrades, instrumental stars - guitarist Dominic Miller, saxophonist Brandford Marsalis, pianist Jeffrey Kizer, fall perfectly in the yard. However, other things were announced as hits on the album sticker, and other names were mentioned among collaborators ... Civilization is looking for new points of support. A bit about the details. The cover hints at the steepness of the musicians - they say, oh, I’ll pump it! But the music says that these guys gathered, perhaps, on the beach, or, in extreme cases, for a beer. The producer Martin Kirshenbaum actively participated in the work, who has a huge track record - from Lady Gaga to Mylene Farmer, from Tokio Hotel to t.A.T.u. The “mysterious” name of the album is deciphered very simply - these are the telephone codes of the UK (44) and Jamaica (876). So the artists conveyed greetings to their homelands.

Something that has not been heard for a long time of merry music from the romantic Sting. Then he goes headlong into folk music, then almost to the symphonic classics. Whether the age is either the mood is not the same, and then remembered the youth of the past ...... And this year the stars came together, somehow Sting (when he was working solo and with "Police" in the genre of "reggae") recorded the album together with the American singer and musician Shaggy (the pseudonym of musician Orville Richard Burrell, a native of Jamaica). Shaggy ("Shaggy") is one of the followers of the traditions of the reggae music of the Jamaican "spill"). The joint work is inspired by the music of the late 80's and early 90's, when the melodism was more important than the rhythm.
