The material consists of a combination between old standards and originals arranged by Oliver Nelson. As a bonus, two 45 RPM versions of tunes from the LP, as well as the trio album "Jimmy Smith Plays Fats Waller" (Blue Note BST-84100), recorded during the same year, and featuring the exact same formation as the trio tracks from Bashin' (with Smith's regular guitarist Quentin Warren and drummer Donald Bailey). As it's title clearly indicates, it presents a selection of tunes composed or regularly performed by the great Fats Waller, who was one of the first jazzmen to devote extensive recordings to the organ.CD comes in mini LP style gatefold jacket release with obi-strip (on which is printed the tracklist) including an inner paper sleeve. "Limited Edition. 24-bit remastered" sticker on the shrink wrap.
