Amanda Somerville is an American singer-songwriter, now based in The Netherlands, well known for her collaborations with various high profile European metal bands like Avantasia, Epica, Kamelot and After Forever, to name a few.
And let??s not forget her amazing musical partnership with Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske under the Kiske/Somerville banner.
With a vocal range from tenor to soprano and a stylistically diverse singing ability, Amanda??s voice is well suited for multiple styles, but TRILLIUM is firmly in the heavy genre. TRILLIUM is an amalgam of various elements of rock and metal, spit-polished to a blinding shine of melodic maelstrom.
Fans of Trillium??s debut album ??ALLOY?, as well as artists like bands as The Dark Element, Cellar Darling and Lacuna Coil will find much to enjoy here. As culturally diverse as they are instrumentally, the band TRILLIUM comprises spans 2 continents, 3 countries and a multitude of musical backgrounds. But the language of rock and metal is universal and the Lady and Gents (a.o. drummer Andre Borgman and guitarist/producer Sander Gommans of AFTER FOREVER fame) of TRILLIUM are fluent and not afraid to speak their minds. They do leave quite an impression and a metallic taste in the mouth which is rather addictive. Amanda's sound is eclectic yet particular, sweet yet raw and commercial yet conventionally-challenged, even if, compared to her previous record, ??Tectonic? keeps a more straight and melodic metal edge. -
