Description:The album was recorded in the summer of 2017 at Nickeâ??s studio The Honk Palace, in Stockholm, Lucifer II was very much a labour of love that enabled Johanna and her new musical partner to develop a strong creative bond. With no time to recruit new band members, Nicke performed the drums, bass and half of the guitar parts himself, with lead guitarist Robin Tidebrink eventually adding his distinctive six-string flair to the tracks. Although still recognisable as the band that released Lucifer I in 2015, Lucifer II is a very different beast from its predecessor. A celebratory riot of none-more-classic riffing, soaring vocal soul and countless ingenious psychedelic embellishments, it amounts to a black-hearted paean to the chaotic disintegration of the hippie dream; full of goosebump-inducing dynamics, anthemic choruses and moments of freewheeling acid rock abandon. Veering from instant sing-alongs like turbo-rumbling opener California Sun to the moodier, bluesier strains of Reaper On Your Heels and the prog-tinged grandeur and lysergic flair of closing brace Faux Pharaoh, itâ??s the sound of a band that have reached a sublime point of compositional equilibrium. Musicâ??s transformative power has led to many great sonic wonders over the decades: Lucifer II is one such marvel, the sound of a great rockâ??nâ??roll band mutating and expanding into something unique and extraordinary. -
2018 release. Apart from a new label home, the follow up to 2015's Lucifer I also marks the first studio release of the new Lucifer incarnation now consisting of vocalist Johanna Sadonis, guitarist Robin Tidebrink, and multi-instrumentalist Nicke Andersson, who plays drums and also took over bass and guitar when recording Lucifer II. The band's live line-up also features Martin Nordin (Dead Lord) on guitar and bass player Alexander Mayr. Lucifer II was recorded at the Honk Palace in Stockholm and Ola Ersfjord (Dead Lord, Tribulation, Primordial) mixed it at Cuervo Recording Service in Madrid. Never underestimate heavy music's transformative power. The might of the riff, the melody and the insistent groove creates a curious magic that only the truly inspired can harness. And that's where Lucifer come in. The brainchild of vocal powerhouse Johanna Sadonis (ex-The Oath), these woozily psychedelic rock 'n' roll renegades are poised to return with a revitalized spirit that promises to propel them all the way to the top.
"Lucifer II" is the second studio album by the Swedish-German band Lucifer, released in CD format by Century Media Catalog. The album showcases a powerful blend of classic hard rock and doom metal influences, with haunting vocals from frontwoman Johanna Sadonis and heavy guitar riffs that pay homage to 1970s rock legends. Tracks like "California Son," "Dreamer," and "Dancing With Mr. D" highlight the band's knack for catchy melodies wrapped in dark atmospheres. Since their formation in 2014, Lucifer has gained international acclaim for revitalizing vintage sounds with modern energy, earning spots at major festivals and charting across Europe. Century Media Catalog is renowned as one of the leading labels in heavy music, supporting innovative artists worldwide since its founding in 1988.

Vagner C. - 14/May/2020 5 of 5 Stars!
In the last years we have noted a crescent of occult rock bands, playing a retro 70's sound. Lucifer is among these numerous bands, but has a very consistent instrumental and a singer with a hauting voice. This is their second album and is really great rock!
