Description:The jazz saxophonist had achieved his own legendary status in an era when pop music dominated the record industry. However, it was important for the music press and its readers to stress Coltraneâ??s importance in popular culture, even at the height of the Summer of Love. OlĂ© is one of Coltraneâ??s finest albums, blessed with a fine supporting cast of musicians all seeking space for self-expression yet staying within the bounds of the arrangements and themes. The result is a timeless quality to their performances. If we use the term â??freeâ??to describe the music, it actually suggests it is free from self indulgence. - 4 BONUS TRACKS/ MINI-LP GATEFOLD REPLICA
CD comes in mini LP style gatefold jacket release with obi-strip (on which the tracklist is printed) including an inner paper sleeve. Sticker on shrink wrap of some copies reads: "Limited Edition. 24-bit remastered". No SID codes found on CD. "Olé Coltrane" recorded in New York, May 25, 1961. Bonus tracks recorded in New York, October 26, 1960. This release presents John Coltrane's highly praised 1961 LP "Olé Coltrane" in its entirety, including the fourth track from the session, "To Her Ladyship", which didn't appear on the original LP. The "Olé Coltrane" session marked the last date the saxophonist did for Atlantic Records and his second recorded collaboration with Eric Dolphy, with whom he had recorded the first of the Africa Brass sessions only two days before. Four quartet tracks from Coltrane's previous studio date for Atlantic have been added here as a bonus.

Ivica S. - 17/May/2020 5 of 5 Stars!
Listen to the clarinet of the coltrane, and the transparency of the piano is also above the studio board. GREAT SOUND - GREAT ALBUM - Highly recommended
