Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlettâ??s virtual band Gorillaz will release its sixth studio album The Now Now, this June via Parlophone. A follow-up to their 2017 LP Humanz, it features guest appearances on 2 of its 11 tracks: with Snoop Dogg alongside Jamie Principle on â??Hollywoodâ??, and George Benson on the albumâ??s first single â??Humilityâ??. The Now Now will be available as cd, in standard black vinyl as well as a box set with lenticular lid, and 52-page booklet replicating band member 2Dâ??s original notebook with album lyrics. -

With the announcement of The Now Now, the band also introduced a new fictional band member, Ace from Cartoon Network's animated series The Powerpuff Girls. In the story, Ace is a temporary replacement for Murdoc, who has been incarcerated. Gorillaz is singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs. Created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, their acclaimed eponymous debut album was released in 2001. The BRIT and Grammy Award winning band's subsequent albums are Demon Days (2005), Plastic Beach (2010) and The Fall (2011).
