Five singles were issued from the album: "Brother", "Follow Your Fire", "Shed a Tear", "Worth It", and "Head Held High". Commercially, Politics of Living was a success within Europe. The album peaked at number one on the Irish Albums Chart, becoming Kodaline's third number one album.

I was introduced to Kodaline while in Ireland, near Dublin. It took perhaps 20 seconds to get totally enthralled by their unique sound, wonderful voices, and haunting lyrics. When I got back to the States, I ordered this and have listened to it over and over, learning the words and singing along so happily driving down the road. They make me smile, and a few songs make me cry. And all wonderful. A great album. Thank you Dublin for sharing them with the rest of us!!
