'Salt In My Eyes' is the 2nd album of the duo BlackboxRed from Leeuwarden. BlackboxRed (Eva van Netten and Stefan Woudstra), make dark and intense Indie Rock. You'll hear elements of Grunge, Shoegaze and Noise. It may remind you of The Dead Weather, Crystal Castles, The Joy Formidable and Brutus. With a venomous gaze and threatening vocals Eva won't let you go. The intense live performance resulted in supports for Savages, Blood Red Shoes, Claw Boys Claw, Rolo Tomassi and Gruppo di Pawlowski, as well as Eurosonic and Noorderslag and several venues in Germany, France, Denmark and Spain. After the release of their debut album 'The Gunner and the Ghost' (2013), multiple singles and the EP 'Beak to Beak' (2015), BlackboxRed is now even more dark, mature and dangerous on this new album, they also got Inspired by the dark French television series Les Revenants (the recipients) and Greek tragedies. For the recordings of the album, the band built a studio together with producer Chris Hamilton (Torres, Kate Nash) in the home of Dutch the festival Welcome to the village. Fast, furious, and possessing more attitude in their smudged eyeliner than should be legal.' The moment the duo steps on the podium they become Blackboxred. A heavily crushing grunge steamroller. A hounded human machine. Eva stares. An atom-splitting gaze. She tortures her guitar and menaces vocally. Meanwhile Stefan becomes a hammering octopus hitting his drums mercilessly. A stroboscope - the devil's light - dazzles the spectators. No escape route. Inspired by the likes of The Dead Weather, Crystal Castles and The Joy Formidable you get the idea of what these two are getting at. After releasing their debut album The Gunner and the Ghost (2013), several singles and the EP Beak to Beak (2015), the band has currently finished recording their second full-length which is set to release in Autumn 2018.
