Description:

In the mid-seventies the club, â??Chez Julieâ? was the weekend rendez-vous a mature crowd of lovers of Haitian music who lived in the metropolitan New York areas. They went there to eat, to drink or to listen to and dance to Tropical Comboâ??s superhits such as â??Crecheâ? with its double entendre lyrics, â??Papa Locoâ? a rendition of a famous Haitian folk song in konpa style, and â??Fe Grog la Macheâ? a new version of a very popular Haitian song. This CD is the first release by Tropical Combo. It is a very successful collaborative work of only three musicians who have amassed ample experiences playing with three of the most renowned Haitian Big Band Groups. -
