| | Description: | Hey there, I'm Randy Waldman and maybe you don't know my name, but I've had the good fortune to work with some people you'll recognize -- folks like Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, George Benson and many others. I'm a pianist and arranger with lots of movies and TV shows to my credit including Mission: Impossible, Beetlejuice, Forrest Gump and more. But what I love most is being a JAZZ pianist! Although I've released three prior jazz records, my new one, SuperHeroes, is something really special -- the result of five years of work! Joining me in the rhythm section are ace bassist Carlitos del Puerto and legendary drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, plus guest appearances by some of the biggest names in jazz, including Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, Steve Gadd, Randy Brecker, Eddie Daniels, George Benson, Joe Lovano, Chris Potter, Arturo Sandoval and the vocal group Take 6. With this amazing cast of characters in mind, I rearranged some of my favorite superhero movie and TV themes, turning them into fun, exciting vehicles for jazz improvisation. We took on Batman, Superman, Spiderman, X-Men, The Hulk, Mighty Mouse, Underdog, The Six Million Dollar Man and of course, Super Chicken. There's definitely something on the album for every jazz (and superhero) fan! SuperHeroes - Jazz heroes meet the heroes of movies & TV! This inspiring jazz album of superhero themes extends it's heroism to the personnel: George Benson, Randy Brecker, Arturo Sandoval, Wynton Marsalis, Steve Gadd and more! Vocal group Take 6 perform, too; includes the TV themes "X-Men," "Mighty Mouse," "Underdog," "Six Million Dollar Man," "The Adventures of Superman," "Batman," movie themes "Superman," "Batman" (1989) and more.
