This version of Clutching At Straws comes as a 5xCD. - .. STRAWSDeluxe edition vinyl LP pressing. Following the multi-platinum success of Marillion's concept album Misplaced Childhood, the British quintet returned in 1987 with it's fourth studio album, Clutching At Straws. The album peaked at No. 2 on the U.K. charts, where it scored Top 40 hits with "Incommunicado," "Sugar Mice," and "Warm Wet Circles." Considered by many to be one of the neo-prog rocker's finest, Clutching At Straws would also turn out to be Marillion's final studio release with original singer Fish. The collection features a new version of Clutching At Straws remixed in 2018 by Andy Bradfield and Avril Mackintosh as well as a concert recording of Marillon performing in Scotland at the Edinburgh Playhouse in December 1987 during the group's final tour of Fish-era. It was mixed by Michael Hunter. In concert, the band plays songs that span it's entire career up to that point with "Garden Party" from it's 1983 debut Script for a Jester's Tear; "Kayleigh" from Misplaced Childhood (1985); and "Warm Wet Circles" from Clutching at Straws.ALBUM INFORMATION:
This is the vinyl box set version of a brand new (2018) Stereo Remix of Marillion's 1987 album Clutching At Straws.
LPs one and two feature a brand new stereo remix of the album by Andy Bradfield & Avril Mackintosh.
LPs three, four and five contain Marillion?s December 19th, 1987 concert at The Edinburgh Playhouse, remixed by Michael Hunter.
Presented in a two piece, lift-off lid type box. Both the lid and base section are textured and have a matte finish. Printed black inside. The lid has text to two edges.
Each LP is in a top opening picture inner sleeve of matte card.
There is a twenty-four page full sized booklet.
An 8cm square hype sticker is applied to the shrink-wrap.
