English Yuriy P. - 17/11/2024 5 de 5 estrellas!
The third work of the legendary American team Morbid Angel. This album is the best-selling record of this group, so I decided to write a review of this album, and also because I listened to this album much more and better than all the other works of this group. At the time of recording, this group consisted of three people: the founder of the group, its ideologist, and also just a good guitarist Trey Azagthoth, who joined the group after the collapse of the Terrorizer project, vocalist Dave Vincent, as well as the legendary drummer, who also played in Terrorizer at first, Pete Sandoval. Of course, everyone in this group is complete professionals, there is no doubt about it, Azagthoth alone is worth something, he is just a demon with a guitar! The music is basically excellent, nice solos, excellent non-uniform, thought out to the smallest detail riffs. Dave's magnificent vocals, purely death, his bass guitar playing is also good. Thoughtful drumming, well, everything as it should be for such death metal monsters as Morbid Angel. By the way, one person here talked about the song "Angel Of Disease", well, this song was written 7 years before the release of this album, if not more, then Death Metal as such did not exist, that's why it smells of punk rock. This composition could be heard on the tape "Abomination Of Desolation", which was released in 1986! I would also like to highlight the composition "Nar Mattaru", the guys got experience in working with such things while creating their second album, by the way, this song is quite well woven into the overall atmosphere of the album, it's like the sun came out from behind the clouds after a wild torrential rain. The album has many hits that the band still plays at their concerts, for example, I will name such songs: "Rapture", "World Of Shit (The Promised Land)", "Blood On My Hands" and an ambient thing called "Nar Mattaru". Now let's get back to the vocals: a great combination of clean voice and growling was achieved in the song "God Of Emptiness", which is at the end of the album. A truly intellectual game that you just need to understand first, I agree, perhaps one listening to the album may not be enough for this purpose, personally this happened to me, but after repeated listening to this record, I began to delve into this creation, which now seems pretty good to me. In general, each album of this group is something special, not similar to past or subsequent creations. Like a new chapter in the work of Morbid Angel. Before the release of this album, the musicians promised something new, different from their previous discs. Perhaps that's how it happened ...
