« Undun » est un album concept salué par la critique du groupe The Roots et proposé ici en vinyle (LP) par le célèbre label Def Jam. Cet opus ambitieux raconte l?histoire de Redford Stephens ? un personnage fictif dont la vie et les épreuves sont dépeintes à travers des textes profonds et une production novatrice mêlant hip-hop raffiné, soul et arrangements orchestraux subtils : la marque de fabrique des Roots alliant narration engagée et instrumentation live authentique.
