Description: | Super Furry Animals At The Bbc is an album by Super Furry Animals, released in 2019. The album is a rock 2-CD. - .. THE BBCSuper Furry Animals release Super Furry Animals At The BBC, a compilation of their radio sessions for the BBC, via Strangetown. This includes the eight sessions recorded for the BBC including those for John Peel and Mark Radcliffe. This follows the remastered re-issues of their top twenty albums, Mwng (1999), Fuzzy Logic (1996), and Radiator (1997). In a press release the band had this to say about Super Furry Animals at the BBC: "The five, excitable kids of the Super Furry Animals saw many wonders of the modern world through our innocent eyes, but finding ourselves playing songs in John Peel's home, or in the carpeted muffle of Maida Vale, elevated the experience to new levels. Our thanks go to those rescuing the recordings from our dusty lofts - Kliph Scurlock and Donal Whelan - and the surgical attention to detail by the great artistic minds of Mark James and Pete Fowler. Also, long live public broadcasting." Features Mark James' "yeti" artwork throughout plus two new illustrations by Pete Fowler.Durations are not printed on the release.
Packaging is a folded 5-panel card sleeve with the left and right end panels holding the two CDs and the centre panel holding the 4-page folded credits booklet.
Credits are bi-lingually printed in Welsh and English.
The writing credit to David R Edwards & Datblygu is wrongly given for 1-12 'Demons' instead of 1-17 'Y Teimlad'.
1-15 has retained the track's early/working title spelling 'Phire In My Heart'; this session was more than a year before the studio version 'Fire In My Heart' was released on the 'Guerrilla' album and as a single. 1-20 has the more familiar spelling.
2-4 was released as the B-side of the limited edition 7"-only single 'Ysbeidiau Heulog'.
2-10 is an early version of what four years later became the opener to 'Love Kraft'.
2-13 concludes with a clip (approx 0:28) of John Peel thanking the band.
2-14 to 2-16 are from the band's "Mash Up The CIA" event at the Cardiff International Arena.
2-14 begins with crowd noise and an introduction from the event MC Howard Marks. The band's performance starts at approx 3:29.
