 | Description: | The System Has Failed is the tenth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on September 14, 2004. It was the band's second and final studio album to be distributed by Sanctuary Records. The System Has Failed was the first album to be released after Mustaine recovered from his arm injury sustained in 2002 which prevented him from playing guitar. It is also the first of three Megadeth records not to include original bassist and co-founder David Ellefson. Instead, the album features session players, including former Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland on lead guitar. However, Poland only provided lead guitar parts and solos on a contractual basis and did not rejoin the band. To date, it is the only Megadeth album where the only certified member of the band was Mustaine. - .. FAILED / INCL. Yuriy P. - 21/Dec/2020 A very good album turned out, which was a pleasant surprise. Recently, many teams have announced a return to their roots, but very rarely anyone succeeds. Usually, statements about "returning to the roots" are just PR and a way to promote the next album, or rolling down to self-repetitions, marking time and chewing on old themes. So this does not apply to TSHF. The album sounds like the good old Megadeth, but at the same time it is listened to very freshly, full of new interesting ideas and catchy melodies.
Gone is the snotty and pop of the previous two releases.
The lyrics are also at their best and deserve special attention. In terms of sound, I would compare the album to Youthanasia and Countdown To Extinction. Among the songs I would like to highlight The Scorpion, Blackmail the Universe, Die Dead Enough, Of Mice and Men, Kick the Chair, Something That I'm Not, Truth be Told, i.e. Almost all :)
One of the best releases in the history of the band.
| | ALEXANDER VLADIMIROVICH K. - 02/Oct/2019 In 2004 they brought us good news - Mustaine recovered and is releasing an album again! To record guitar solos, he invited an old comrade - Poland. On this album we hear the new Megadeth. Dave began searching for music that he would write in the 2000s. Moreover, every second song is easy to remember, it is clear that Mustaine did not waste time during treatment. There are a couple of concert tracks on this reissue, so you must have a disc on your shelf!
