The eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth. Released on May 15, 2007. United Abominations was well received by critics and debuted at number eight on the Billboard 200, the highest chart position for the band since 1994's Youthanasia until it was succeeded by 2013's Super Collider. Greg Prato of AllMusic stated Megadeth "sound reborn" on United Abominations.

The material "United Abomintions" - the name Megadeth got a new work - was completely written (with the exception of only one composition co-written with guitarist Glen Drover) and personally produced by Dave. I will say right away: the album turned out great. All the friends familiar and loved by the fans of the band are present here. True, the sound, unlike the "System", is not so brutal here. And sometimes it even reminds the classic work of the group. Especially in this sense, the song "Washington is Next!" with a catchy melody the first time, which seems to date back 18 years to the time of "Rust In Peace". You don’t have to go far to understand the content of the songs, even a cursory glance at the track list is enough. The same "Washington is Next!", "Amerikhastan", "Gears of War" ... - in general, continuous attacks on the government, the UN, and very harsh statements against the war in Iraq. It is also worth noting a cover of the classic semi-ballad "A Tout Le Monde", sung in collaboration with Lacuna Coil vocalist Cristina Scabbia, who was immediately criticized severely. For me, the idea itself and its embodiment were simply brilliant, like a breath of fresh air. Christina's voice is in perfect harmony with the stern voice of Dave, the composition clearly received a rebirth. In general, writing any review of Megadeth's albums is quite difficult. For Dave is a very extraordinary person, and the music matches his own. I have long refused to identify his work as simply “trash”, because this style primarily means hooligans like Slayer, Kreator and Exodus. Megadeth from the very beginning (apart from the debut debut) sounded much more conceptual and, I am not afraid of this word, progressively. You can love or hate Mustaine - he is not one of those who can leave you indifferent. To love - for the fact that it was never “like everyone else”, but constantly grew and developed. Hate - for excessive seriousness and constant picking in politics. I put the highest score on the album. But not because it is an album of the year or something like that - 2007 turned out to be unusually rich in excellent albums. And just for the fact that this is Megadeth, and not some regular young power or death team, of which an unprecedented number have now divorced. Megadeth is a classic.
