 | Description: | Steve Earle was nineteen and had just hitchhiked from San Antonio to Nashville in 1974. Back then if you wanted to be where the best songwriters were you had to be in there. Guy Clark had moved to Nashville and if you were from Texas, Guy Clark was king. Flash forward more than forty years. In the fall of 2018, Steve and The Dukes went into House Of Blues studio in Nashville and recorded GUY in six days. 'I wanted it to sound live... When you've got a catalog like Guy's and you're only doing sixteen tracks, you know each one is going to be strong.' Earle and his current, perhaps best-ever Dukes lineup, take on these songs with a spirit of reverent glee and invention. But in the end Guy leads the listener back to it's beginning, namely Guy Clark, which is what any good 'tribute' should do. Guy is a saga of friendship, it's ups and downs, what endures. We are lucky that Earle remembers and honors these things, because like old friends, Guy is a diamond., Runningtime: 00:00:00, A&R: Kim Buie, Art Direction, Design, Layout: Tom Bejgrowicz, Booking [European]: Asgard Agency, Booking [European]: Paul Fenn, Booking [North America]: Lance Roberts (5), Booking [North America]: United Talent Agency, Cover [Back]: Terry Allen, Cover [Front]: Tony Fitzpatrick (2), Crew [Dukes]: Brian Denny, Crew [Dukes]: Kevin Varnado, Crew [Dukes]: Reggie Winston, Crew [Dukes]: Todd Burman, Crew [Dukes]: Tyler Porch, Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals: Steve Earle, Legal: Carroll, Guido & Groffman, LLP, Legal: Rosemary Carroll, Management: Danny Goldberg, Management: Gold Mountain Entertainment, Management: Jesse Bauer, Management [Business]: Butch Gage, Management [Business]: Cal Financial Group, Management [Business]: Dan Goscombe, Mixed By, Mastered By: Ray Kennedy (2), Performer [The Dukes], Bass: Kelley Looney, Performer [The Dukes], Drums, Percussion: Brad Pemberton, Performer [The Dukes], Fiddle, Mandolin, Tenor Guitar, Vocals: Eleanor Whitmore, Performer [The Dukes], Guitar, Vocals: Chris Masterson, Performer [The Dukes], Pedal Steel Guitar, Vocals: Ricky Ray Jackson, Photography By [Film Stills]: Jim Szalapski, Photography By [Guy Clark]: Paul Whitfield, Photography By [Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival]: Mike Melnyk, Photography By [Steve Earle + Dukes]: Tom Bejgrowicz, Producer: Steve Earle, Recorded By: Ray Kennedy (2), Recorded By [Assisted By]: Lance Allen (2), Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Producer: The Twangtrust, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: James Scott (27), Songwriter: Guy Clark, Acoustic Guitar: Shawn Camp, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Shawn Camp, Acoustic Guitar: Shawn Camp, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Acoustic Guitar: Gary Nicholson, Acoustic Guitar: Verlon Thompson, Dobro: Jim McGuire, Harmonica: Mickey Raphael, Mandolin: Shawn Camp, Recorded By [Additional Recording]: Jacob Sciba, Recorded By [Assisted By]: Joseph Holguin, Songwriter: Guy Clark, Songwriter: Richard Dobson, Songwriter: Susanna Clark, Vocals: Emmylou Harris, Vocals: Gary Nicholson, Vocals: Jerry Jeff Walker, Vocals: Jo Harvey Allen, Vocals: Rodney Crowell, Vocals: Shawn Camp, Vocals: Terry Allen, Vocals: Verlon Thompson, Labelcode NEWW6455.2 (NW6455), Recorded At House of Blues Studios, Nashville, TN, Recorded At Arlyn Studios, Mixed At Room & Board Recording, Mastered At Room & Board Recording, Phonographic Copyright (p) New West Records, LLC, Copyright (c) New West Records, LLC | | Pochette: |
