Charlotte Cornfields "The Shape of Your Name" war die erste Veröffentlichung von Next Door Records, die ursprünglich im April 2019 auf den Markt kam. Die Deluxe-Wiederveröffentlichung besteht aus der Original-LP, die jetzt auf Atlantic Blue-Vinyl gepresst wurde, mit einer 2-Track 7" "In My Corner b/w Upstate" als Bonus. Das ist der Ursprung dieses Albums: Muster aufzulösen um den Prozess zu umarmen. Das Werk hat einen ausgefeilteren Studio-Sound als ihr raueres 2016er Album "Future Snowbird", und das aus gutem Grund: Es wurde in fünf verschiedenen Sessions über einen Zeitraum von drei Jahren aufgenommen. -

Much admired Toronto singer songwriter Charlotte Cornfield's new album, The Shape of Your Name. Recorded by Grammy winner Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, Weezer, Julian Casablancas) at a Banff Centre artist residency. The album is a collaborative effort with core members of Broken Social Scene (Kevin Drew, Brendan Canning, Charles Spearin) and features performances by Leif Vollebekk. Similar artists include Phoebe Bridgers, Big Thief, Julien Baker, Soccer Mommy, boygenius. This is the debut album on Next Door Records - Outside Music's new subsidiary label. NDR and Outside Music will support this release with a full marketing campaign and publicity by Ken Beattie at Killbeat Music and Auteur Research. Charlotte will tour extensively in support of this album, continuing the momentum of recent 2018 tour with Broken Social Scene.
