Description: | In this new major work John Muchleisen explores the costs of war from the point of view of the families left behind- specifically the loss of Rudyard and Carrie Kipling's son John during World War I. Robert Bode directs Choral Arts Northwest in a live performance of this moving new work. John Muchleisen's compositions have been performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. More than 40 of his works have been recorded commercially. Awards include third place in the 2013 American Prize in Professional Choral Composition and the 2014 Dale Warland Singers Comission Award co-sponsored by Chorus America and the American Composers Forum. Choral Arts Northwest, under the direction of Dr. Robert Bode, has won the Margaret Hillis Award for Choral Excellence and the American Prize for choral performance. The group has also been awarded coveted performing opportunities at the ACDA National and Regional Conferences, and the Chorus America National Conference. |
