Description: | The long awaited follow-up to her well-received mainstream debut 'Dandelion'. That release marked her as one of the most talented musicians able to entrance audiences on the folk scene and beyond. Tall Tales and Home Truths has been six years in the making and the ten tracks reflect the time and care she has given to bringing her subjects to life. Taking inspiration from the lives of family members past and present, Mills weaves tantalizing narratives incorporating superstitions, folklores and mysteries of the North Yorkshire Moors into half remembered snippets and bed time stories told to her as a child. She blends into the mix recently uncovered true stories and recurring themes from her family history. Carefully crafted lyrics bring her characters to life, and following in the footsteps of her songwriter heroine Joni Mitchell, she has found her own way of capturing 'every day' occurrences, feelings, and emotions into scenes of wistful poignancy. Formerly a member of all-girl band 'Waking the Witch' she co-wrote two highly successful albums. Since 2000 Becky has pursued a mainly solo career becoming a very accomplished performer in her own rightThe long awaited follow-up to her well-received mainstream debut 'Dandelion'.
