Digitally remastered and expanded edition including bonus track. Force Majeure is the twelfth album by the German group Tangerine Dream, originally issued on transparent vinyl. Following Stratosfear, the album developed Tangerine Dream's further evolution toward the more melodic sound they would adopt in the 1980s, with a heavier presence of guitars, drums and distinct musical suites in the tradition of progressive rock, rather than the band's 1970s output of Berlin School. Force Majeure is Tangerine Dream's fourth-biggest-selling album in the UK, reaching #26 and spending seven weeks on the chart.
Recorded August / September 1979 at Hansa Studios, Berlin. Bonus track recorded at Polygon Studio, Berlin 1979. Re-mastered from the original Virgin master tapes at Broadlake Studios, Hertfordshire. Artwork at Waldo's Design & Dream Emporium. Tracks 1 to 3 BMG VM Music Ltd. Track 4 Copyright control. The seven Seventies Tangerine Dream albums are re-issued as "Newly re-mastered from the original master tapes....." (as printed on a sticker on the packaging) in clear-tray jewel cases with "RE-MASTERED FROM THE ORIGINAL VIRGIN MASTER TAPES" printed on the left of the tray liner. Included is a 12-page, stapled booklet. Perhaps "Force Majeure" is more fascinating and amazing than the Tangerine Dream's masterpiece "Phaedra". This because the album is the perfect union of the best prog-rock of the 70's.
