.. Griffin/ 1957 Album / Blue Note Debuts On 180gr. Vin |
 |
Descripción: | Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin blew out of Chicago and made his debut album for Blue Note Records in 1956 steering a nimble quartet with pianist Wynton Kelly, bassist Curly Russell, and drummer Max Roach through a fantastic set of originals and standards. From the blistering opener "Mil Dew" to the loping "Chicago Calling" and bluesy "Nice and Easy" Griffin's staggering technical ability and buoyant swing is readily apparent at every twist and turn. Griffin would follow with two more standout Blue Note albums-A Blowing Session featuring John Coltrane and The Congregation-the next year., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Bass: Curly Russell, Design [Cover]: Reid Miles, Drums: Max Roach, Lacquer Cut By: Kevin Gray, Liner Notes: Joe Segal, Mastered By: Kevin Gray, Photography By [Photo]: Francis Wolff, Piano: Wynton Kelly, Recorded By: Rudy Van Gelder, Tenor Saxophone: Johnny Griffin, Written-By: Johnny Griffin, Written-By: Johnny Griffin, Written-By: Holt Marvell, Written-By: Jack Strachey, Written-By: Hugh Martin, Written-By: Ralph Blane, Written-By: Johnny Griffin, Written-By: Cole Porter, Written-By: Roger Ramirez, Labelcode 7745064 (7745064, 7745064, BLP 1533, 1533, 00602577450648, 00602577450648), Copyright (c) UMG Recordings, Inc., Manufactured By Universal Music Enterprises, Mastered At Cohearent Audio, Lacquer Cut At Cohearent Audio, Pressed By Optimal Media GmbH, Recorded At Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, New Jersey |
