Description:Ryan Keberle & Catharsis release their fifth album, The Hope I Hold, an album full of optimism in the face of political and cultural corruption. For this record, band veterans Jorge Roeder (bass) and Eric Doob (drums) anchor the ensemble, trombonist Keberle expands his palette to include vocals and keyboards, and Chilean vocalist Camila Meza expands her role to include her intriguing guitar playing. Saxophonist Scott Robinson joins the band for the first time, contributing his inspired playing to the Brazilian-inspired Catharsis sound. The CD also includes four tracks featuring a Keberle-Meza-Roeder trio, providing an album-within-the-album departure that adds a fits seamlessly within the albums aesthetic. -

The album features lyrics drawn from Let America Be America Again, a virtuosic and poignant poem written by Langston Hughes in 1935 that Keberle felt compelled to incorporate into his new work.
