A global release by Universal Music."Fire Music" is a landmark LP by the legendary jazz saxophonist Archie Shepp, released on the iconic Impulse! label. This 1965 album captures Shepp at his most passionate and innovative, blending hard-hitting free jazz with deep blues influences and political consciousness. The record features powerful compositions such as "Hambone," "Los Olvidados," and a stirring rendition of Duke Ellington?s "Prelude to a Kiss." With its raw energy and emotional depth, "Fire Music" stands as one of the defining statements of avant-garde jazz in the 1960s. Impulse!, known for its distinctive orange-and-black spines, has been home to some of jazz's greatest innovators including John Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders. Archie Shepp himself is celebrated not only for his fiery playing style but also for using music as a platform for social commentary; over his prolific career he has collaborated with legends like Cecil Taylor and contributed significantly to both American and European jazz scenes. | | Manufacturer No.: |
