Recorded during the U.S. and Australian swings of the tour in support of 1993â??s Off The Ground, Paul Is Live is Paul's fifth live album. Originally released that same year, the album is famous for the multiple meanings and clues embedded in its title and cover art, all of which play on the â??Paul Is Deadâ? conspiracy/hoax. In addition to a wealth of Wings and Beatles classics, covers of Roy Brownâ??s â??Good Rockinâ?? Tonightâ? and Leiber and Stollerâ??s â??Kansas Cityâ? and more, Paul Is Live also offers a peek behind the curtain: Three songs improvised on the spot and exclusive to the album, all recorded during rehearsals in various locations over the course of the tour. Paul Is Live has been newly remastered at Abbey Road Studios. -

Digitally remastered edition. Paul Is Live, recorded during the tour in support of Off The Ground, was Paul's fifth live album and is famous for it's title's double meaning and the rumor-scotching cover art. Ever since the 1969 release of Abbey Road, there had been hoax-fueled stories of Paul's untimely death. The new title was a way of saying that this was most definitely not the case. The artwork is a play on the famous Abbey Road cover, with Paul crossing that same street but wearing shoes and using his left hand this time. (Originally, his bare feet and the holding of a cigarette in his right hand had supposedly been clues that it wasn't him on the cover.) As well as a raft of solo, Wings and Beatles favorites, the album also offers an insight into the band s sound checks, the final three songs all being improvised during rehearsals in various locations on the tour.
