Extra-Infos: The Legend's Lost Album
Description:Miles Davis shocked the music world in 1985 when he left Columbia Records after 30 years to join Warner Bros. Records. In October of that year, he began recording the album Rubberband in Los Angeles at Ameraycan Studios with producers Randy Hall and Zane Giles. The musical direction Davis was taking during the sessions marked a radical departure, with the inclusion of funk and soul grooves; with plans to feature guest vocalists Al Jarreau and Chaka Khan. Eventually, the album was shelved and Davis went on to record Tutu, leaving the Rubberband songs unheard and untouched for over 30 years. - THE LEGEND'S LOST ALBUM

Eventually, the album was shelved and Davis went on to record Tutu, leaving the Rubberband songs unheard and untouched for over 30 years. It was finished by the original producers Hall and Giles; with Davis' nephew, Vince Wilburn, Jr., who played drums on the original sessions for the album in 1985-86.

Sergey S. - 23/Jan/2020 4 of 5 Stars!
Previously unpublished studio sessions by Miles Davis from 1985. Musicians who worked with Miles back in 1985 re-recorded their parts and remixed album but kept intact solos by Miles. The music would remind you of You're Under Arrest from the same year. Explosive mix of jazz, jazz-rock, funk and pop music. There are some bright moments - songs "Rubberband of Life", "Paradise", "So Emotional", "I Love What We Make Together", there are some good moments - "Carnival Time", "See I See", "Echoes in Time", there are some rough, nervous and unpolished tracks - "This Is It" , "Give It Up". In general - just good collection of studio sessions tracks, but not the best and most impressive album by Miles. If you like his sound from the 80s before Tutu - you'll like this album. Anyway - try to listen to single ""Rubberband of Life". It's really good.
