"Loving sounds" is the title of the album by Duo Gioco di Salterio and that's how exactly the music on this album sounds. The duo Birgit Stolzenburg and Hans BrÃ¼derl bring together eight historical string instruments with melodious music from the Middle Ages to the Baroque. Including the Salterio (the baroque form of the dulcimer), one listens to the Dulce Melos (dulcimer of the Middle Ages), dulcimer, double-bass dulcimer, renaissance guitar, vihuela, renaissance lute and theorbo. The album features discoverable music by Nicola Matteis, Arcangelo Corelli, Diego Ortiz, Luis de NarvÃ¡ez, Adrian Le Roy, Bartolomeo Selma y Salaverde & Bernardo Pasquin - all showing the expressive sounds of the various instruments and putting the listener in a very special, relaxed mood.
