Axe wurde 1977 von ehemaligen Babyface-Mitgliedern gegrÃ¼ndet, einer populÃ¤ren Hard Rock-Bands seiner Zeit. Axe wurde von Leader Bobby Barth angefÃ¼hrt, der dafÃ¼r sorgte, dass die Bandmitglieder aus ganz Amerika nach Gainesville, Florida zogen, wo sie in einem Haus lebten, Musik schrieben und probten. Axe waren damals Bobby Barth, Michael Osborne, Michael Turpin, Teddy Mueller und Edgar J. Riley Jr. Ihre Songs wurden mit denen von Bands und Interpreten wie Judas Priest, Ozzy, Deep Purple, Kiss, Motley Crue, Cheap Trick oder ZZ Top verglichen und schnell zu einem festen Bestandteil der Rockwelt. 1984 endete der Aufstieg der Band, als Micheal Osborne bei einem Autounfall ums Leben kam. Bis in die 1990er Jahre war es ruhig um die Band. Dann entschloss sie sich dazu, weitere Alben zu verÃ¶ffentlichen. Dieses neue Album ist das finale Kapitel der aufregenden Bandgeschichte. -

Axe was formed in 1977 out of the ashes of Babyface, a hard rock band burdened with a top 20 hit... but on the Adult Contemporary Charts. The melodic rock outfit was brought together by leader Bobby Barth who has led the charge through many ups and downs and now delivers Axe's aptly titled last record, Final Offering. Mixed by Mark Pinske (Frank Zappa, Steve Vie), mastered by Alan Douches (Yes, Fleetwood Mac, Pete Townshend, Mastodon) and pressed on 180g vinyl 2LP with a pair of acoustic bonus tracks, two inserts and liner notes from Bobby Barth. An awesome selection of great new original swan songs including single Land of Our Fathers.
