DESCRIPTION:

Brand new mix of the Space Oddity (aka David Bowie) album by longtime Bowie producer/collaborator Tony Visconti.

Of the 2019 Space Oddity album mix Visconti says «It was so much fun to find hidden gems of musicianship with more time to mix the second time around, a guitar twiddle here, a trombone blast there, Marc Bolan's voice in a group choir and more detail in general that we overlooked all those years ago when the label gave us a week at the most to mix this album. And in the details you will find 22 year old David Bowie, who would soon take the world by storm."

50th Anniversary Mix By Tony Visconti. Standalone release of "2019 Mixes" CD from [r=14398980]. Issued with a spot-varnished die-cut slipcover over a separate tri-panel gatefold digisleeve, again with spot-varnishing over the color artwork and photos. The UPC code is on the shrink wrap, not on either back cover. The disc artwork is based on the label design used for the original UK LP release on Philips Records, similarly to the 2009 and 2015 remasters. However, the label is blue rather than black and features most of the text in lowercase letters rather than uppercase. The disc is packaged without an inner sleeve. "Conversation Piece", the B-side to the original 1970 non-album single release of "The Prettiest Star", is added here for the first time; it was originally planned for release on the 1969 LP, but was cut due to space constraints. Conversely, the hidden track "Don't Sit Down" is not included on this release, as was also the case on the 1969 Mercury US LP and the 1972 RCA LP (also used as the basis for the RCA CD release).
"Space Oddity" is a landmark album by David Bowie, released in 1969 and now available on CD from Parlophone Label Group (PLG). But this is really cool!!! Visconti is handsome! It seemed that what else could be added to this wonderful album? The disc sounds amazing! Naturally, I immediately rushed to compare with the previous edition (box). The reissue of 2019 is something!
