Ursprünglich posthum 2010 von Definitive Jux in Zusammenarbeit mit Fat Possum veröffentlicht. King of Hearts war Taos letzte Platte vor seinem frühen Tod im Alter von nur 30 Jahren. Aufgenommen mit Definitive Jux Labelkopf, EL-P (von Run the Jewels), wenn es 2008 veröffentlicht worden wäre, wie es ursprünglich geplant war, wäre es wahrscheinlich seiner Zeit voraus gewesen. Pop-fokussiert, hook-getrieben und mehr gesungen als gerappt, ist er anderen Künstlern voraus, die später ähnliche Ideen umsetzten, wie Kid Cudi, Janelle Monae und sogar die 808 und Herzschmerz - Era von Kanye. So einzigartig und bewegend war Taos Musik, dass sie dazu führte, dass EL-P sich dem Thema widmete.
