Description:English Settlement is an album by Xtc, released in 2022. The album is a High Quality pop 2-LP. - 200GR.
Double 200gm heavyweight vinyl LP pressing. Includes lyric sheet. English Settlement is the fifth studio album and first double album by the English rock band XTC, originally released in 1982. It marked a turn towards the more pastoral pop songs that would dominate later XTC releases, with an emphasis on acoustic guitar, 12-string electric guitar and fretless bass. XTC recorded the album at The Manor Studio in Oxfordshire with producer Hugh Padgham, the engineer of their previous two LPs. Compared to the band's previous releases, English Settlement showcased more complex and intricate arrangements, lengthier songs, lyrics that covered broader social issues, and a wider range of music styles.
Printed on the sticker: "2 X 33? RPM LPs pressed on 200G Super-Heavyweight Vinyl. Cut from the original stereo master approved by Andy Partridge." While looking for the (still 'lost in the archives') multi-track tapes to enable Steven Wilson to undertake new stereo and 5.1 surround mixes of the album, the original half-inch master tapes were discovered and used as source masters from which engineer John Dent cut new lacquers for this heavyweight vinyl edition. Made In The E.U. Runouts are etched. 'LOUD' is etched directly under 'Jonz' on all runouts.
"English Settlement (200 Gram Vinyl)" is a deluxe LP edition of XTC's iconic 1982 album, released by Panegyric. This double album showcases the band's transition from their earlier new wave sound to more intricate and pastoral pop arrangements, featuring standout tracks like "Senses Working Overtime," "Ball and Chain," and "No Thugs in Our House." Pressed on high-quality 200 gram vinyl for audiophile clarity, this release offers fans an immersive listening experience true to the original recordings. XTC, formed in Swindon, England in the mid-1970s, are celebrated for their innovative songwriting and influential contributions to British pop music. Over their career, they have achieved critical acclaim with albums such as "Drums and Wires" and "Skylarking," earning a dedicated global following. The manufacturer Panegyric is renowned for its meticulous approach to reissues of classic albums, ensuring top-tier audio fidelity and packaging that honors the legacy of each artist.

HYUNG RAE K. - 20/Apr/2024 4 of 5 Stars!
Vinyl was is great shape! Also, insert was in decent condition considering the age. Preceded, in the UK, by the January release of the album's first single, "Senses Working Overtime" and with that single hitting the UK Top 10 and becoming the band's biggest hit to date, the album quickly climbed to a UK Top 5 position.
