 | | Description: | Imperfect Circle is the upcoming sixth studio album by American rock band Hootie & the Blowfish scheduled for release on Capitol Records Nashville on November 1, 2019.[3] This is their first new studio album in fourteen years.
The album was announced in December 2018, along with their Group Therapy Tour, the first outing the band had made since 2008.[4] Once the group decided to reform, they went to vocalist Darius Rucker's management company to help them arrange for recording and promotion.[5] The band members decided to record again concurrent with the decision to tour[6] and used the opportunity to debut new tracks live.[7] This release is the first from the band in 14 years and the title was announced on August 9, 2019.The band enlisted Frank Rogers and Jeff Trott to record them, along with a variety of guest musicians.[8] Individual band members brought in songs that they had considered for solo efforts (guitarist Mark Bryan, with "Turn It Up") or that resulted from jam sessions (singer Darius Rucker with pop musician Ed Sheeran on "Wildfire Love"), finally arriving at 17 tracks recorded in the studio. - Vinyl LP pressing. 2019 release. With the rich, bluesy vocals of Darius Rucker and gleeful harmonies of guitarist Mark Bryan, bassist Dean Felber and drummer Jim Soni Sonefeld, Hootie & the Blowfish have sold over 25 million records worldwide to date after their infectious melodies hit the airwaves in 1994. The quartet met at the University of South Carolina where endless gigs at frat houses and local bars built a major local buzz. Their blend of pop, folk, blues, soul and rock made them hard to pigeonhole, but easily accessible to anyone who loved good music. The band took a break from full-time touring in 2007, reuniting annually for a variety of philanthropic events while also pursuing solo projects. 2019 marked the band's first full-time touring year in over a decade as they embarked on the Group Therapy Tour ahead of Imperfect Circle, their first album in nearly 15 years. | | | No. of tracks: |
