Constantly creative, Marc Almond will release his brand-new album â??Chaos And A Dancing Starâ?? on January 31st 2020 via BMG. The album was made in collaboration with producer, songwriter and pianist Chris Braide, who also worked on â??The Velvet Trailâ??. An Ivor Novello winner and Grammy nominee, Braideâ??s many high-profile credits include work with artists such as Sia, Lana Del Rey and Halsey. The duo started writing for the album three years ago, their initial plan for a prog-rock album evolving into something leaning more towards strident pop melodies. â??Chaos And A Dancing Starâ?? provides another twist in the unorthodox artistry thatâ??s become a hallmark of Almondâ??s career. The title plays on a quote from Nietzscheâ??s â??Thus Spoke Zarathustraâ??: â??One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.â? Essentially, art, music and creative expression comes from personal experiences of repression or turmoil. Itâ??s a statement that has informed everything that Almond crafts, and one that he wants placed on his gravestone. -

In the wake of his acclaimed 2017 album "Shadows and Reflections" (his journey back to his favorite '60s baroque-pop nuggets), the Soft Cell co-founder returns with this album of brand-new songs. Marc teamed with Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter/pianist Chris Braide to create this evocative mix of theatrical pop, gothic atmosphere and surprising flavors of Americana.
