Als der Rock and Roll kam, wussten wir, dass die Briten nicht mithalten konnten. In einigen FÃ¤llen war zwar das Talent vorhanden, aber bis zu den Beatles und dem Beatboom 1963 hatten die Produzenten bei EMI, Decca, Philips und Pye Records nicht den Hauch einer Chance, gleichwertiges Material zu produzieren. Die einzige Ausnahme war ein gewisser Joe Meek. Er liebte Echo, Verzerrung und seltsame Instrumente und er war sicherlich ein Pionier, ein AuÃ?enseiter und ein Outlaw. Diese Doppel-CD enthÃ¤lt 28 seiner Produktionen. Meek schrieb 18 von ihnen, entweder unter seinem eigenen Namen oder als Robert Duke. -
