"HUMAN.:II:NATURE." is the ninth studio album by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish, released in 2020 on CD format by Nuclear Blast. This ambitious double album showcases Nightwish's signature blend of powerful orchestration and melodic metal, with one disc featuring dynamic rock songs and the other offering a sweeping orchestral suite. The lyrics explore themes of humanity, nature, and existence, inviting listeners into an immersive sonic journey. Nightwish has been at the forefront of symphonic metal since their formation in 1996, achieving international acclaim with albums like "Once" and "Dark Passion Play," as well as chart-topping singles such as "Nemo" and "Amaranth." Their innovative sound has earned them numerous awards and a loyal global fanbase. Nuclear Blast is renowned for supporting leading artists in heavy music genres worldwide, consistently delivering high-quality releases that shape the landscape of modern metal.
Compared to their prior albums, Human II Nature musically in some ways resembles EFMB, but seems even more mellow overall though it does have its more upbeat moments, like in the second song Noise. Aside from the more vocal parts, it seems to chug along at a steady pace with a lot of orchestration throughout.

After 2015's Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Finland's Nightwish toured the globe to sold out houses, then went on hiatus. Vocalist Floor Jansen had her first child in 2017, while Tuomas Holopainen formed the folk-influenced trio Auri with singer, violinist (and wife) Johanna Kurkela, and Nightwish multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley.
