Original studio albums remixed by Steven Wilson & Robert Fripp. Limited to 2000 copies per title. Pressed on 200 gram vinyl. Originally begun in 2009 by Steven Wilson & Robert Fripp for King Crimson's 40th anniversary, a series of new mixes were prepared in both stereo & 5. 1 formats & issued as CD/DVD-a sets. The CD/DVD-A series also provided the catalyst for the larger scale King Crimson boxed sets as issued from 2012 onwards. The impact of both the CD/DVD-A series & the boxed sets helped to kick start a wider interest in the mainstream market for surround sound & for all-encompassing artist boxed sets which had, previously, been limited mostly to 'direct to fan' and/or specialist online sales & retailers. Consumer demand for the remixes on vinyl led to two boxed sets being issued in late 2018."Larks' Tongues in Aspic (Alt.Takes) - 40th Annive" is a special LP release by the legendary progressive rock band King Crimson, presented by Dgm. This edition celebrates the 40th anniversary of one of King Crimson's most influential albums, featuring alternative takes that offer fresh perspectives on classic tracks. The album showcases the band's innovative blend of rock, jazz, and experimental music, highlighting their boundary-pushing approach to composition and performance. King Crimson has been at the forefront of progressive rock since their formation in 1969, with landmark albums like "In the Court of the Crimson King" and "Red." Their influence extends across generations and genres. Dgm (Discipline Global Mobile) is renowned for its high-quality releases and dedication to preserving groundbreaking music from iconic artists. |
