Oktober 1965 mit dem Bassisten Bill Wood und dem Schlagzeuger Omar Clay - die eine Mischung aus Jazzstandards und Originalkompositionen aufführen.
Der Titeltrack â??Once Upon A Time" wurde von James als Hommage nach dem Once Festival für Neue Musik in Ann Arbor, MI, benannt, das von 1961 bis 1966 lief und einen besonderen Platz in seiner frühen musikalischen Karriere einnimmt.
