1968, nach der Ermordung von Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., nahmen die Rassenspannungen in den USA rasant zu, auch in Palo Alto, Kalifornien. Die dortige Universität kam auf die unglaubliche Idee, Thelonious Monk für ein Konzert zur Verständigung von Schwarz und Wei� einzuladen. Nach vielen Komplikationen fand das Konzert schlie�lich statt. Es wurde ein Triumph für Monk und die Veranstalter.

Includes two booklets and poster. After the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1968, racial tensions across the country rose. Palo Alto, a largely white college town in Cali, wasn't immune. Danny Scher, a junior at the high school, had a dream to have Thelonious Monk perform and help bring about racial unity the community while raising funds for the International Committee. Originally scheduled for release on July 31, 2020 but withdrawn due to a legal dispute between Sony Music and Monk's estate.
Once resolved, the estate announced an offical street date of 18 September, 2020.
NB: On July 30, multiple copies of the European vinyl pressing appeared at the Concerto record store in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and via its affiliated website, Platomania.
