Britain's premier artist. Exhibitions of his works draw huge crowds in every corner of the
globe.
Gearbox Records have created a teleportational sound portrait of his cathedral-like studio in
all its working glory. Hammers, grinders, fans, welders, and all sorts of other beasts
reverberate in the vast caverns of an extraordinary acoustic space.
A true AAA valve mastered mono recording, direct to 1/4 inch tape using the legendary RCA
KU-3A ribbon microphone. On 180gm Vinyl for sonic excellence.
Artfully presented in a beautiful sleeve, with a special forward from Gormley himself. - 180GR.
Recorded with a 1950?s RCA KU-3A ribbon microphone onto a Studer C37 1/4? tape machine with a full-face mono head block at 15ips.
Mastered by Darrel Sheinman and Caspar Sutton-Jones at Gearbox Records.
Cut on a Haeco Scully lathe with Westrex RA1700 series amps, Westrex 3DIIA cutting head and Telefunken U73B tube limiter; Decca valve equalisation; monitored on Audio Note equipment.
