Yuuta Orisaka is an artist who breathes new life into roots music, creating songs that transcend generations and genres. Born in 1989, Orisaka's work captures the era with his very personal sensibility. Yuta Orisaka is a talented artist who has been praised by many musicians, including Hikaru Utada, Masafumi Goto (ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION), and Sohei Oyamada (AL, ex: andymori). His unique singing voice, which seems to be produced using his entire body, fascinates people everywhere. His latest work, 'Heisei,' which was completed by absorbing the atmosphere of the times, features a variety of songs that include elements of jazz, folk, Latin, chanson, Brazilian music, and even hip-hop, and Orisaka's vocals are more varied than ever, from expressive voice use to narration, scat, poetry, etc. While boldly transcending eras and genres, his lyrics are somehow familiar and emotional, connecting each listener to their own 'now,' just like a minstrel. His overwhelming singing spirit has universality and heresy that can be connected to roots music from all over the world, past and present. In addition, it is a most important work of 2018 that successfully hybridizes modernity.
